Who should attend: All those wishing to enhance their mediation skills and understanding. This course is essential for new family mediators.

Learning level: Advanced 

The fourth and final course in CLEBC's Family Law Mediation curriculum, this course will focus on issues such as bias and impartiality, ethical issues in mediation, high conflict personalities, culture, co-mediation, and multi-party disputes. For those wishing to become Family Law Mediators under the Family Law Act, this is the final course in our 80-hour curriculum.

This course will count for 16 hours of mediation training and will include exercises and role plays in mediation settings. 

Prerequisites:

This course would be the appropriate course for those who have completed Family Law Mediation Levels 1, 2, and 3 under our previous curriculum design.

*DISCLAIMER: In order to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course, learners are required to participate fully in the course. "Full participation" is in the faculty's sole discretion. Activities such as reading the paper, watching videos on the computer, not being present, engaging in phone calls, and disrupting the class with irrelevant activities will demonstrate a lack of full participation.

1. Introduction to Family Dispute Resolution
Monday and Tuesday, October 2 and 3, 2017.

2. Family Law Mediation Fundamentals
Monday to Wednesday, December 4 to 6, 2017.

3. Intermediate Family Law Mediation
Wednesday to Friday, January 17 to 19, 2018.

4. Advanced Family Law Mediation
Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, 2018.
