About the Course Chairs
Alyssa D. Bradley is a partner at Young Anderson. She is a solicitor as well as a litigator and has appeared in all levels of Court in BC for local governments. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Environmental Biology and the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law.
Alyssa has been a guest lecturer at the UBC Faculty of Law in municipal law, the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in administrative law and the UBC School of Community and Regionial Planning in planning and land use law as well as various seminars and courses on municipal and land use law. She is on the executive of the Canadian Bar Association National Municipal Law Subsection. She also updates the chapter on Development Rights in CLEBC's Real Estate Development Practice Manual.
Olga Rivkin is a solicitor with Lidstone & Company Law Corporation. She advises local governments and other public entities on a variety of topics, including land development, subdivision, real estate, highways, remediation, water, infrastructure, and general day-to-day operations. Olga publihes and presents extensively on issues of importance to local governments. She is a regular contributor to local government law-related programs for CLEBC andf requently writes for the publications The Digest of Municipal & PLanning Law and Municipal World. She has also recently presented for PBLI, Environmental Management Association, BC Waste & Water Association, and Union of BC Municipalities.
