About Self-Paced eLearning
Easily accessible in a one to two-hour program, self-paced elearning provides video, quiz questions, and reference materials. The programs are available on demand for two weeks from your date of purchase. You work at your own pace, you control the video and question playback, and you can stop part way through and your answers are saved. These programs provide CPD credit for working on your own, at your own pace.

This Self-Paced eLearning course is beneficial for: All lawyers, although there will be some litigation focused topics.

Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced

This program addresses issues related to waiver of legal advice privilege and litigation privilege. The presentation is focused on how accidental waiver can occur in practice; specific topics covered include:

  • waiver by disclosure of information
  • waiver by pleadings
  • waiver by swearing of affidavits
  • waiver due to disputes between lawyer and client (including allegations of lawyer misconduct and taxation of accounts)
  • common interest exception to waiver of privilege

The program is based on a CLE-TV course originally broadcast on June 11, 2013.
