REGISTER FOR AN ONLINE TALK with Cree artist Kent Monkman on Saturday, September 26 about Monkman’s powerful exhibition Shame and Prejudice: A Story of Resilience.
Shame and Prejudice, “a searing critique of Canada’s colonial policies, past and present”, is a travelling exhibition on display until January 3, 2021 at the newly reopened Museum of Anthropology on UBC’S Point Grey campus.
Due to COVID-19, all museum visitors must pre-purchase a timed-entry ticket at the MOA’s website.
Monkman is “a Canadian artist of Cree ancestry who works with a variety of media, including painting, film/video, performance, and installation. His work is known for its provocative reinterpretations of Romantic North American landscapes, and it explores themes of colonization, sexuality, loss and resilience—the complexities of historic and contemporary Indigenous experience.” (MOA)
