CLEBC’s Human Rights Conference will be held in Vancouver on November 29–30, 2018. This annual two-day conference brings together leading human rights law practitioners to address current and emerging issues in human rights law with a focus on BC. We aim to provide those working in the area with a substantive look at the trends and practical issues to meet the increasingly complex and sophisticated issues in this area of practice.
Lawyers, academics, the judiciary, human resource practitioners, tribunal members, and all other professionals interested in the area of human rights law are invited to submit an outline of the paper that you would like to present at the conference. We anticipate that most of the topics on the agenda will come from your proposals.
Areas of interest include all aspects of human rights including workplace human rights, international human rights, charter issues, group rights and others. As the Law Society of BC has recently decided to recognize Professional Wellness as a subject matter that is eligible for CPD credit, we also welcome submissions on this topic.
Please take a moment to review the agendas from 2016 and 2017 for an idea on what topics have been covered recently. We do our best to have different topics every year, unless there have been significant developments or changes in the area.
Please send your submissions and/or any questions you have via e-mail to Genevieve Chang at gchang@cle.bc.ca with the following information:
- Your name and organization;
- Proposed topic; and
- ½ to 1 page outline of your proposed paper and presentation;
All submissions received by Monday, April 9, 2018 will be reviewed and considered by the Conference Chairs and Planning Committee.
Thank you for your continued support of the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC. We look forward to receiving your ideas and to seeing you at our Human Rights Conference. Please save the dates!
