CLEBC’s Aboriginal Law Conference will be held in person and via webinar on Friday, November 24, 2023. We invite you to submit an outline of the paper you would like to present at the conference. The submission deadline is Friday, July 28, 2023.
This annual conference brings together leading Aboriginal law practitioners to address current and emerging issues with a focus on BC. We will explore the legal and pragmatic implications of current developments affecting Indigenous Peoples, governments, and industry. We aim to provide those working in the area with a substantive look at the trends and practical approaches to meet the increasingly complex challenges in this practice area. We anticipate that most of the topics on the agenda will come from your proposals.
Lawyers, academics, members of the judiciary, Indigenous community members, and all other professionals interested in the area of Aboriginal Law are invited to submit an outline of a paper they would like to present at the conference.
Please take a moment to review the agendas from 2021 and 2022 for an idea of the topics that have been covered recently. We do our best to have different topics every year, unless there have been significant developments or changes in the area.
Please send your submissions via email to: Teresa Sheward at teresas@cle.bc.ca with the following information:
your name and organization;
proposed topic; and
half- to one-page outline of your proposed paper and presentation;
All submissions received by Friday, July 28, 2023, will be reviewed and considered by the Conference Chairs and Planning Committee.
Thank you for your continued support of the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC. We look forward to receiving your ideas and to seeing you at our Aboriginal Law Conference.
