The new edition of the BC Elders’ Guide is out, making sure that Elders, their families, and their caregivers have access to information about the programs, services, and resources they need.
The 180-page second edition is organized into chapters on wellness, health services, benefits, home, transportation, money, safety and security, and resources. There are also chapters on additional programs and services, an alphabetical directory, and the words of several BC Elders who were asked about their secrets to aging well.
The First Nations Health Authority and the BC Government write in the book:
Elders play a pivotal role in the health and wellness of First Nations communities and are often sought out for guidance and advice. It is important to support Elders so that they can live long and healthy lives and continue to provide guidance and support for the next generation.
Periodic updates to the August 2024 guide are available at www.fnha.ca/EldersGuide or www.gov.bc.ca/seniorsguide.
