Call for Papers | Human Rights Law Conference 2021

CLEBC’s Human Rights Law Conference will be held on Tuesday, November 16 & 23, 2021.

This annual two-day conference brings together leading human rights law practitioners to address current and emerging issues in human rights law with a focus on BC. We aim to provide those working in the area with a substantive look at the trends and practical issues to meet the increasingly complex and sophisticated issues in this area of practice.

Lawyers, academics, the judiciary, human resource practitioners, tribunal members, and all other professionals interested in the area of human rights law are invited to submit an outline of the paper that you would like to present at the conference. We anticipate that most of the topics on the agenda will come from your proposals. Areas of interest include all aspects of human rights including workplace human rights, international human rights, charter issues, group rights, and others. As the Law Society of BC has recently decided to recognize Professional Wellness as a subject matter that is eligible for CPD credit, we also welcome submissions on this topic.

Please take a moment to review the agendas from 2019 and 2020 for an idea on what topics have been covered recently. We do our best to have different topics every year, unless there have been significant developments or changes in the area.

• Your name and organization;
• Proposed topic; and
• ½ to 1 page outline of your proposed paper and presentation;

All submissions received by Friday, April 30, 2021 will be reviewed and considered by the Conference Chairs and Planning Committee.
